611: The Final Excursion. When Norfolk Southern announced the end of its steam excursion program, Valhalla Video Productions was there to record the sights and sounds of the final excursion. See spectacular scenes of 611 steaming through Southern hills and valleys between Birmingham and Chattanooga on a cold Fall day. Then see her "ferry trip" home to Roanoke, and her arrival displaying black flags. Read the poignant inscription on her cab. No other streamlined steam locomotive can match the sheer power and excitement of 611, with her throaty whistle, steady exhaust, and coal-fired smoke. This video preserves the final chapter in the operating history of 611. Enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful lady of the South over and over again on this video, because this is the final excursion! Hi-Fi stereo sound with narration. DVD comes packaged in durable plastic library case with printed full color cover. Length 56 minutes.
Usually priced at $24.99, now On SALE for $19.99!

If you love Norfolk and Western 611, or steam locomotives in general, you will enjoy this DVD very much. All the footage of 611's last five days under steam in December 1994 on this program was gathered from a variety of sources and was put together in such an orderly, attractive manner. At the time, this really was the last excursion before Norfolk Southern would permanently terminate its famous steam program. At the time, no one ever foresaw or knew for sure that N&W 611 would once again return to her former glory for a third career. Thankfully, this golden opportunity came in 2015, over two decades later! However, you still do not want to miss out on owning an absolutely beautiful journey back in time to 611's original glory days under steam in the OFFICIAL Norfolk Southern program. Purchase this DVD! It is worth every penny, and you will not be disappointed!

This DVD was a gift for a gentlemen from Salem VA who is quite the history buff. He loved it. This item was backordered but the staff kept me informed of the order status and was amazingly accommodating. The Customer Service at the Museum Store is stellar. Thank you!
