611 Builder’s Plate Mug in Black Cherry
Drink your morning coffee (or beverage of choice) with a smile on your face and this handsome mug in your hand. For those who just can’t get enough of 611, this mug is for you! The builder’s plate is represented in complete detail, reminding you that our 1950 beauty is still alive and well. The 12 oz. mug is handmade by our friends at Sunset Hill Stoneware in Neenah, Wisconsin. No two pieces are exactly the same; slight imperfections are part of the charm of hand crafted items.
This is a medium size 12 oz. mug, approximately 3 ½ inches high and 3 inches wide. Made in America.
This is a new color and different mug type...than what was offered previously through the Museum Store at VMT.

My husband loves the mug and it means so much as his grandfather was a machinist on the 611. It is truly a beautiful piece of art. Please make a larger size, as it will sell!

The mug is great looking but incredibly small. My husband asked for this mug & doesn't know it's a future gift. He's going to be disappointed when it doesn't hold enough coffee. I honestly am not sure if it will hold the "large" cup of coffee from a Keurig. Maybe he will just use it as a display in his train room.

This is a substantially weighted, beautifully crafted piece of stoneware that--in red, especially!--is a very worthy tribute to and reminder of the locomotive that pulled the Powhattan Arrow. As Eddie Minter noted in his review here, it's not the size we've come to expect from today's mugs. But it is an 8-ounce cup that fits nicely in your hand. For me, everything about it gives pleasure, including (again, as Eddie noted) the fact that it's handmade right here in America. I live far away from Roanoke, so mine also came by mail, quickly and well-protected.

As the title states, this is a very well made coffee cup. Made in the USA to boot! I love having the builder plate on the cup. But, be aware that this is a fairly small cup. It will barely hold a cup of coffee from my Keurig brewer. It fills right to the brim! That's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. As an aside, I had to order this as it was out of stock at the Museum store. It arrived very well packaged to protect it.
